A few things I love most about La Jolla:
- Known as “the jewel” of San Diego, La Jolla is one of the most beautiful and picturesque coastal towns there is. Backed by Mt. Soledad, and surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on three sides, the views are nothing short of magical. There are no shortages of beaches and ocean access, which include Windansea Beach, La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Cove and Children’s Pool Beach. La Jolla cove is probably the most well known and visited by locals, tourists, and sea lions alike.
- Not just a tourist town, residents love it here because of the abundance of activities and upscale village lifestyle. We often head to The Village to hit Prospect Street and Girard Avenue for the shopping and dining, or to catch a movie at The Lot. La Jolla is also home to the world famous Torrey Pines Golf Course, Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, the La Jolla Playhouse and the Museum of Contemporary Art.,
- La Jolla is also known for having some of the best schools in San Diego, from pre-k to college. Also, did you know that Dr. Seuss lived in La Jolla? He based many of his stories and characters on the scenery and people he saw here.
